Canadian pop star Avril Lavigne will for a time his musical career aside to get into his first lead role in a movie.
The singer has already acted before, but in minor roles, as in 'The Flock' last year and 'Fast Food Nation' in 2006. In addition, he put his voice to the character in the animated film of the same year, 'Over The Hedge'.

Now, Lavigne is taking first steps south as a dramatic actress and ensures that it will be totally different from his previous work.
Avril said: "I have a role in a movie, something not expected from me, something deep and dark."
