According to several U.S. media, the marriage of Avril Lavigne is facing a crisis and their separation may be being handled in the courts. Apparently, the distance between their respective professions, they are both singers and travel a lot for their tours, has been the trigger for their separation.
Avril and Deryck Whibley, lead singer of Sum 41, announced their engagement in early 2004, a year later was engaged and married on July 15, 2006.

Avril Lavigne received the Certificate of Honor from the Association of Social Workers in Beijing China.
Avril has helped raise funds for the poorest families and children in need of China during his Best Damn Tour, also gave gifts to children victims of the earthquake in Sichuan Province.
